Lato Milk was bestowed with another honor at Tanzania Leadership Award 2016the Tanzania Leadership Award 2016 by winning the Best new company of the year award 2016. The award comes after Lato Milk’s one year of successful operations in Tanzania.
MiDCOM group held its third successive annual Diwali Scramble Golf Tournament on the 29th of October 2016 at the picturesque Majlis course at Emirates Golf club. Every year, this event draws avid golfers from all over the UAE and this year was no different as this year witnessed a fabulous turnout of 128 players. Gokul Mani, Pavan Nihalani, Ian McDonald and June Mcdonald combined well on the Majlis course to make an array of birdies and win the Midcom Diwali Scramble with a 58.2 tally. The competition was strong with only 0.4 points separating the top three teams. Stathis Stathis, Haris Michaelides, Naima Maya and Tania Sangani signed for a 58.5 total to take runners-up place. Ishu Rupani, Harish Rupani, Ed Hesson and Eddie Hesson also produced an excellent display with a 58.6.
The event was followed by games were and a cultural extravaganza where there were special Bhangra and Contemporary dance performances showcased by students of a well-known dance academy in Dubai. The evening concluded with a grand gala dinner and party that carried on till the wee hours of the night.

MiDCOM focuses on retail growth with MStore's retial expansion
MStore retail operations to grow from 300 outlets to over 2,000 outlets by 2020. The expansion will make it the largest mobile and electronics retailer in Africa.
MStore currently has a presence across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Nigeria, Ghana and Togo. The retail expansion will see the store increase its presence in these markets and enter new markets, including Chad, Ivory Coast and Senegal.
Mr. Akash Kumar, Midcom Group’s managing director, said: “The expansion of MStore is the latest realization of that growth strategy, which any other international organization moving into these markets would struggle to replicate.

The President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni commended Pearl Dairy Farms for its intensive financial investment in the country and generating employment in the region.
At the event he said “Uganda currently generates 2.2bn litres of milk but only consume 800m liters. We currently sell USD 50m per year worth of milk, but with endeavors like these we shall certainly be making six times that (USD 300m) in a few years. Surprisingly, we have been able to generate this much milk and yet feed our cattle rather sub-standard grass. If only our people could pay more attention to the type of grass they feed their cattle, we would be doing much better.”
Midcom Group started Pearl Dairy in 2013 and has for the past three years bought over 200 million liters of milk from farmers by offering competitive prices amidst seasonal fluctuations and global dairy prices.
Mr. Bhasker Kotecha, the Founder and Chairman of Midcom Group expressed his gratitude to the different stakeholders who have played “pivotal roles” in the success of the company.
“Pearl Dairy Farms is thankful to the Government of Uganda under the leadership of His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the conducive and attractive policies; both investment and economic that have enabled Pearl Dairy exist and flourish in Uganda” he said.
“Furthermore, the ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries and the Dairy Development Authority have been pivotal with continued guidance. Last but not least, the farmers that have consistently supplied us with high quality milk consistently without waiver- we are eternally grateful,” Mr. Kotecha, added.
Devendra Seth, Managing Director, Pearl Dairy said that they will continue to provide training to farmers and cooperative societies and on strategies to stimulate milk consumption.
As part of their quality control measures, Pearl Dairy Limited has also distributed over 2000 milk cans to farmers at no profit in order to ensure clean milk transportation from the farm to the factory. Pearl Dairy Farms Ltd also shares best practices with farmers in milking, milk handling and hygiene.
Mr. Anand Kapoor, Founder and Vice Chairman of MiDCOM Group has been felicitated by Forbes Middle-east as one of the Top Indian Business Leaders in the Arab World, 2016. It is a matter of great pride for the group as he has been conferred this honor for the fourth year running.
He now ranks at 41st position in the Forbes Top Indian Business Leaders in the Arab World. The felicitation ceremony was held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Palm Jumeriah, Dubai.
